If that is the case then one should put some penetrating oil on the top and wait for some time. After that a wrench can be used or at worst a hammer and a punch.

After the top is successfully removed, one should at first check for the stuck debris. One should make sure by checking the pipes to and from the trap for bits of soaps, hair and debris. It is advisable that one should don a pair of gloves and put the hands inside to double check if there is any debris left or not. After that one should close the drain and again run hot water for a considerable amount of time through the drain to remove the pieces of dirt and debris that even hands may have missed.
